SòLE – Shoes Loving Earth

The SòLE – Shoes Loving Earth project was born from the awarding of the call for proposals by the Marche Region PR FESR 2021/2027 – AXIS 1 – SPECIFIC OBJECTIVE 1.1 – ACTION 1.1.1 – Call for proposals “RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT TO INNOVATE THE MARCHE REGION” - Incentives for companies for industrial research and experimental development activities in the areas of the Regional Strategy for Smart Specialization – BUSINESS AGGREGATION.

The Research and Development project to innovate the Marche region, entitled SòLE – Shoes Loving Earth, focuses on innovating the production process for Santoni shoe uppers through the study, development, and use of more sustainable and innovative processes and materials, resulting in a product unavailable in the current industrial landscape. To achieve this goal, two main strands will be developed within the Santoni shoe upper production process: the first oriented toward vegan materials (the "VEGAN strand") and the second toward the concept of recycling (the "BIO INSPIRED strand").

The Research and Development to Innovate Marche project, titled SòLE – Shoes Loving Earth, pursues the ambitious goal of reducing the environmental impact of footwear production and meeting the expectations of consumers who are increasingly seeking products that combine quality, high performance, and environmental sustainability. Through this project, Santoni S.p.a., Aipol S.p.a., and Trio S.r.l., the Partner Companies admitted to the Call, aim to create and consolidate innovative and increasingly sustainable materials and production processes, demonstrating that it is possible to produce luxury footwear sustainably.
